Symposium Objectives
This forum is being offered to assist emergency department directors in dealing with the demands of providing emergency care in New York State. The emergency medicine environment is more complex now than ever before. This forum will provide directors with information to enhance their ability to be more effective and successful emergency department leaders.

Now, more than ever, the emergency department’s ability to operate efficiently is paramount.  In this difficult health care environment, directors need to hear first-hand plans for changing health care policy that will have a direct impact on their emergency department. This forum will assist the emergency department director in identifying strategies to address: considerations in ED throughput,billing and coding, point of care testing, recovery audit contracts in the Northeast, Pay for Performance and OPMC changes.
